After reading one of her earlier books, I decided to start with the first one. I believe the first, copyright 2009, "Sworn to Silence" is the first. It's where she initially meets John Tomasetti.

Another great thriller. Of the two books in the series I've read so far, they are not for the squeamish. Nice tight plot and as before, a surprising ending.
Highly recommend this series.

I am struggling a little with Linda Costillo’s second crime & thriller situated novel. However, this statement likely paints the wrong impression, because I to do not intend to infer the writing it not engaging or compelling – it is. This…

Second book in a very nice series. Police Chief Kate Burkholder who has left her Amish community must solve murders involving the people of her heritage. Add to this the fact that she has a major secret in her past, and you have a…

A one-day read - you know I had to like it. Chief of Police Katie lives and reigns in a small Amish town in Ohio. This is the second by this author featuring these characters. The mystery/crime is brutal and difficult to read about (just…

I've enjoyed all the books I've read so far. There is a good mystery but also alot unfolding as the main characters learn about themselves.

Every book by Linda Castillo keeps me spellbound and turning the pages as fast as I can.
I love her writing style and her ability to bring out the best and the worst from the Amish world.
A patron review from the Adult Summer Reading Game: "Another novel in the Linda Castillo series centering around life in an Amish community. When an entire family is murdered, Sheriff Kate Barkholder works to solve it."

This second book in the Kate Burkholder series is good enough to keep the pages turning, despite parts of the story being rather unrealistic. Where was the media frenzy over the brutal murder of seven members of an Amish family? In real…

Just finished 2nd book in series. I do not like these books. To much brutality. The lady chief is not likeable and she appears to be disfunctional in a lot of her actions. She also has a drinking problem, along with her so called…
Very good read, though a little gorier than I like. Castillo gets a little repetitious on Kate's Amish background and how it affects her, but that is an important part of the story.

Another great book in this series! A very fast paced, gory thriller that I read in one sitting. You'll probably have a pretty good idea who the killer is pretty quickly into the book, but somehow this doesn't diminish the excitment of the…

This is the second in a new mystery thriller series to feature police chief Kate Burkholder and State Agent John Tomasetti. What makes this novel most interesting is the Amish element.
Set in Ohio’s farm country, in the village of…

An excellent follow-up to Sworn to Silence. I enjoyed Pray for Silence just as much and read this vey quickly. Again, excellent character development and really interesting main characters. The cast of potential characters were less…

Once again, a great book to read. Just as good as the first book in the series "Sworn to Silence". I hope there is a third book as this series is one of the best thrillers I have read. A definate page turner.
