Add a CommentI like Ellen a lot, but didn't like this book much, although it was funny in some places and sort of cute in others. And example of what I didn't find funny: Ellen reading "funny noises" into the microphone. It was sort of like listening to a 5 year-old, and even then it would have been tedious. It felt without substance, somehow, and insufficiently in depth in areas where it could have been interesting (for example, her experience modelling).
This audio book was solely a fun listen/read, and definitely laugh-out-loud funny. If you're looking for a serious and insightful book about life, then this isn't it. I enjoyed it and it made me smile.
Listened to the audiobook (read by Ellen) after enjoying Tina Fey's Bossypants. Ellen's book was definitely true to her but it rambled on and went on tangents a bit too much for my liking. Her TV charisma and like-ability did not transfer!
She is so optimistic, and that makes this book good enough for me. This is supposed to be a fun read:)
wow - what a waste of time. This woman may be charistmatic on television but she is the epitome of the shallow hollywood imbecile on this self-congradulatory audio recording with her meaningless platitudes and trite life experiences.
